<PREFACE>I know Lemmings don’t really behave this way.</PREFACE>
With my wife working weekends, and having to take care of the kids on my every day off, I don’t get much of a chance to go shopping, especially when holiday season arrives (Holiday season being our anniversary, on the 12th, and that pagan holiday that got co-opted by the Christians on the 25th)
Twice now, I’ve gotten my father to come over to babysit, and twice he’s waited until after the football games are over. Both times, all the stores were closed by the time I got there. Today was no exception, but it should have been. I went to Chandler Fashion Center since (a) I was in the Area (b) it’s a fancy new mall with all the trendy junk and (c) it’s got the other Apple Store. Surely they must be open for Christmas shopping!
Judging by the enormous and full parking lot, they were. Judging by the stream of hundreds of people parking their cars and walking to the mall entrance, they were. Judging by the constant stream of people comically smashing their faces against the locked doors as they stubbornly refused to open, they weren’t. Closed at 6:00PM. They might as well just roll up the sidewalks at night in this city.
