Chinese New Year Video

In 2003, Irene and I took Michelle back to Taiwan for her first trip. Now, we’re preparing for James’ first trip to Taiwan. As part of my preparation, I’m reviewing the video footage from the last trip to see if anything will be useful for this trip. I’m posting this video of the fireworks firefight … Read more

Things I See On My Way To Work

This morning, I pulled into the Quiktrip (my favorite convenience store) and as I park, I see the manger come out the front door with a slack-jawed gaping look on his face, staring across the parking lot. Curious fool that I am, I follow his gaze until I spy a 50-60 year old woman walking … Read more

Themed-Restaurant Dinner

As can happen this time of year, tonight we had a terrific downpour in the evening. We went out to run an errand and have dinner. Going to Taiwan

Teeth!

DSC00054_3 Originally uploaded by Gridman. James got his first tooth today! In honor, we went to the New Tokyo Market and picked up some rice crackers designed for teething and toothless infants. They aren’t nearly as amusing as the “Infant Babbling Biscuits” we got in Taiwan (pictured) but, James seems to like them.

Explaining Urinals

Last night we ate at a restaurant near my office. I had to go into work for a while and do some late system maintenance and my wife wanted to do some shopping in the area. As Michelle successfully went to the bathroom before we left the restaurant, I decided she could go with me … Read more

What’s podcasting?

What’s podcasting you say? (Skip it if you already know – or, perhaps you shouldn’t) Podcasts are amateur radio shows (usually talk radio) compressed into MP3 (or perhaps AAC) and spread over the internet, usually by way of a blog like this. (You probably know all this, but this is in preface to my next … Read more
