Doctor Who – Daleks in Manhattan – Review

Postponed!

As this is a two-parter, I’ll reserve the review until next week.

But I’ll leave you with just a couple observations…

I hadn’t been paying attention to the schedule and didn’t realize this was a two-parter, so I wasn’t expecting the cliffhanger ending.

What’s sad is that, after watching the episode for 40+ minutes, and the Doctor had just worked his way into the Dalek laboratory, I have been so conditioned by (chiefly by Russell T. Davies’) slap-dash endings, that I was fully expecting the Doctor to pull out the sonic screwdriver, run it across one of the machines and blow the lab up, end of story.

Thank goodness RTD doesn’t write them all.

I remember watching Terror of the Zygons many times and I never could figure out the head of the oil rig’s accent. I just couldn’t place it to any part of the UK. When I read the novelization, it spelled out it was supposed to be an American accent. While watching this episode, I was wishing for an accent that authentic! Tullulah’s was the equivalent of fingernails on a chalkboard.
